Terms of use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Skrim mobile application ("the App") developed and published by Maneo House L.C. ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

01Description of service

Skrim is a photo privacy tool that allows you to remove, replace, or inject EXIF metadata in your photos. The App operates entirely on your device. It does not upload, transmit, or store your photos or their metadata on any external server.

• Strip mode removes all EXIF metadata from selected photos.
• Scramble mode (available with Ghost Mode) replaces existing metadata with randomly generated fake data — GPS coordinates, camera info, timestamps, lens.
• Inject mode (available with Ghost Mode) adds plausible fake metadata to clean images that have no existing metadata.

02Eligibility

The App is available to users of all ages. No account creation is required. You must have a compatible iOS device and an Apple ID to download the App from the App Store.

03License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on any Apple device you own or control, subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App or any part of it.

04Free tier & Ghost Mode

Free tier. You may strip up to 5 photos per day at no cost. Free users select one photo at a time. The daily limit resets at midnight local time.

Ghost Mode ($9.99). A one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited daily strips, batch processing (up to 50 photos), Scramble mode, Inject mode, resize for social, compression control, HEIC-to-JPG conversion, and the Share Extension. The purchase is non-recurring and does not auto-renew.

Ghost Mode Family ($19.99). Identical entitlements to Ghost Mode, shared with up to six people via Apple Family Sharing. Also a one-time, non-consumable purchase.

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not handle payment information directly. Refund requests must be directed to Apple per their refund policy.

05Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, branding, icons, and visual identity, is the intellectual property of Maneo House L.C. and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The "Skrim" name and logo are trademarks of Maneo House L.C.

Your photos remain your property. The App does not claim any rights to the images you process.

06Acceptable use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You may not use the App to process images in a manner that violates any applicable law or regulation, or to facilitate illegal activity. You are solely responsible for the content of the photos you process and how you use the processed output.

Inject and Scramble modes are intended for legitimate privacy and creative use cases. You agree not to use them to deceive, defraud, or impersonate any person or entity.

07Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. While Skrim is designed to remove or replace EXIF metadata, we do not guarantee that all metadata will be removed or replaced in every case or for every image format. You should verify the output independently for high-stakes use cases.

08Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MANEO HOUSE L.C. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for Ghost Mode or Ghost Mode Family, if any.

09Privacy

Your privacy is fundamental to Skrim. The App does not collect personal data, does not transmit photos or metadata off-device, and does not use third-party analytics. For full details, please review our Privacy Policy.

10Third-party terms

Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions, including the Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Apple EULA). In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple's terms, Apple's terms shall govern to the extent required.

11Modifications to the app & terms

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue the App at any time without prior notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on our website with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your license to use the App is revoked. Sections 5, 7, 8, and 13 survive termination.

13Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
